9/8/23 - updated with the opening date
The Table has been open in Southwark for 17 years and now they've finally decided it's time to open a second restaurant, The Table Battersea.
Best known for their brunch, which has been the only menu they've had so far, they're coming to Battersea Rise. The expansion comes as a part of the work needed to bring the original Table back from the effects of pandemic restrictions, where the business is now co-owned by its original owner Paul Appleton and Venus Loudon.
Brunch will, once again, be the main draw here with a menu including:
- Smoked ham hock and chorizo hash, with wilted spinach, fried free-range egg and Southwark hot sauce
- The Table chicken burger - grilled buttermilk-marinated chicken, Southwark hot sauce, mayonnaise, avocado, sliced tomato and gem lettuce
- Brunch club with crispy streaky bacon, sausage, free-range scrambled eggs, chives, maple syrup - on either pancakes or gluten-free waffles.
They'll also be open in the evenings, unlike the Southwark original, and a new menu of small plates is being planned for that.
The new Table is only a short walk from Ploussard, another great new opening. So perhaps we'll start to see a lot more promising new restaurants around this area.
