You've got to admire the marketing bods at KFC; whatever they're paying that team is paying dividends. Last year their chicken-fuelled pub in Hammersmith for the World Cup was the talk of the town. This year they've gone one better. To promote the arrival of the teriyaki burger in their restaurants they're going to be transforming the KFC Waterloo branch into an omakase restaurant.

The one-day transformation will offer seats up at the counter with six Japanese-inspired KFC dishes being served up:

  • KFC Karaage with ponzu
  • Crispy Mini Chicken Fillet Nigiri topped with wasabi-infused garlic buttermilk mayo
  • KFC Mini Chicken Fillet Asian Salad
  • Soy Sauce Glazed Corn on the Cob
  • KFC yakitori - popcorn chicken on bamboo skewers marinated in their teriyaki sauce
  • The KFC Teriyaki Burger

TikTok chef Akito Greenland is going to be running the show from the Colonel's Table (the counter). Tickets will be just £11 with all the proceeds going to The KFC Foundation which supports grassroots organisations across the country working with young people.
