Red Vine brings a British menu and Welsh wines to Clapham

Red Vine brings a British menu and Welsh wines to Clapham

A new restaurant has opened up in Clapham that happens to be from the family behind a Welsh vineyard. Red Vine is a neighbourhood restaurant with a modern British via the Med menu and, as you can expect, they'll have something of a focus on wine too.

The menu features British dishes with a twist and on that, you'll find:

  • Poached duck egg with truffle oil and wild sautéed mushrooms
  • Truffle tortelloni in garlic butter
  • Pan-roasted partridge with poaches pear, spinach and piri piri sauce
  • Hummingbird cake

It's run by the family behind Wales' Penarth Vineyard, which started way back in 1999 in Montgomeryshire. They produce wines and brandy and have featured in the Decanter wine awards (their sparkling white won bronze last year). You'll be able to try all of those at Red Vine, of course, alongside a largely European list.

The restaurant has taken over the space that was once Metro and has a very handy conservatory at the back of the restaurant. They'll also have alfresco dining in the garden too.
