Last month we reported on the revival of an early 20th century cabmen's shelter in Chelsea which had been turned into the diminutive Café Pier. Now the riverside spot is about to get its first pop-up.
Chef Charles Bryant is going to be the first one to take over the space with a lobster roll popup this weekend. Bryant, who most recently worked for Alyn Williams at The Westbury and then at The Grill at the Dorchester, is now private cheffing and planning more events like these.
"I chose lobster because I thought it really fitted well with the cab shack we are doing it in," he told us. "It's a summery roll to be serving up next to the river."
The rolls will feature roast lobster tail, tempura claw with homemade pickles, hollandaise sauce, chives, and grated potato, all sandwiched in a brioche bun. Each roll will cost £18 and include a glass of craft beer from Belgian brewers Réserve Royale.
