Brat's Tomos Parry is opening Mountain in Soho

Brat's Tomos Parry is opening Mountain in Soho

11/7/23 - updated with the new photos

We've been hearing for a while about an upcoming new Soho restaurant from Tomos Parry (the man behind Brat in Shoreditch) and now we've finally got some actual details. He'll be opening Mountain on Beak Street.

It's being described as a wood grill and wine bar, which they say reflects "Tomos' favourite meals from journeys across Spain over recent years". That will be paired with his local sourcing from fishermen and farmers in Wales and Cornwall, echoing what he does with Brat.

For snacks, there will be two types of sobrasada made specifically for the restaurant in Mallorca, alongside raw Carmarthen prawns, wild asparagus and braised peas with cockles. And in addition to that, there will be:

  • Pink bream served whole, split and roasted on the plancha
  • Wood-grilled lamb chops
  • A traditional Menorca dish -  lobster caldereta, served in steaming ceramic pots (we expect you'll be seeing those all over Instagram)

Apparently, we can expect smoked potatoes too as a carby special. As for drinks, the wine list is being put together by Head of Wine Martina Larnach and Holly Willcocks. That'll be showcasing both older vintages from lesser-known wineries and ones familiar to Brat diners too.

The restaurant takes over what was once a Byron and the main feature will be a big counter bar that's been created from English elm. There's also an extra bar in the basement where they say you can "watch the chefs working a large wood fire oven that is roasting the deserts, ensaimadas and almond tarts."
