The team behind Tufnell Park's Authentique Epicerie & Bar and Bakery and the French Market in Whetstone are spreading their wings. The next stop on their expansion plans is Finsbury Park where they've taken over where Lara's Italian cafe used to be.
Unlike their Whetstone branch, the Finsbury Park shop isn't going to start with selling wines, but it will be serving up pastries, breads and sandwiches alongside French cheeses, charcuterie and other French treats.
There's already a strong French-influenced bakery offering on Blackstock Road due to the large Algerian presence in the area, so the team will have plenty of competition. But given they're already a contender in the Isigny Ste Mere best croissant in the UK (their baguette recently won third prize in a similar London-wide competition) we reckon they'll be bringing their A-game.
While there will be plenty to take out, the good news is they've also got a hidden garden at the back of the Blackstock Road bakery where you can enjoy their coffee and pastries (and more seats inside too).
