2/6/23 - updated with the opening date
Kachori is a new restaurant coming to Elephant Park that looks rather promising.
The restaurant takes its influences from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and the Punjab. Here's a taste of what to expect, the menu features everything from street food-inspired creations and burgers through to larger sharing dishes:
- Dal Chilla Taco, crispy lentil crepes, asafoetida-tempered mash potatoes, shengdana podi, Mathania chilli and coconut chutney
- BC Chicken Burger - buttermilk chicken fillet, brioche bun, mango chutney, lettuce, coleslaw, tomatoes, shengdana crumble, BC sauce
- Sarson Sea Bream bream, turmeric, carom, mustard, quinoa Jhalmuri
- Malay Meen cod loin, lemon grass, galangal, yellow mustard, coconut, tamarind
- Keralan Beef Chilli Ulathu slow-cooked sliced beef in caramelised onion, curry leaves, Teliicherry black pepper, garlic, green chilli
It all comes from Sorowar Khan, the man behind Borough's Mango. He's brought in Humayun Hussain to set up the concept. In the kitchen will be chef Brinder Narula who has plenty of experience at top-level Indian food having run the kitchen at two of London's best Indian restaurants - at Gymkhana as head chef and Benares as Executive Chef.
It's a big restaurant with an extensive terrace and they'll be serving up a breakfast and brunch menu too. It sounds like an interesting opening in an area going through a lot of changes at the moment.
