Katsu & Buns are doing right what is says there in the name - katsu curry and bao buns. They've been delivering for a while but are now getting a pop-up space in Islington at The Chapel Bar Terrace.
The main menu features small plates and a special bao menu on Saturdays. So you'll find things like:
- Ebi Katsu - lightly coated king prawns, sweet chili mayo
- K&B Katsu Curry - carrot, spring onion, pickles, steamed white rice, Katsu curry sauce with chicken, tiger prawn or pumpkin
- Korean pork, Peking duck and pumpkin katsu baos
- Miso and Truffle Burger - plant-based patty, toasted brioche, mature cheddar, mixed leaf salad, crispy onions, miso truffle mayo
For drinks, they have Japanese cocktails like the Black Ship (Toki whisky, pomegranate, port - £13) and they'll have a bottomless brunch at weekends. As the weather gets better, this could be the place to go in Islington.
