We've seen dining pods pop up from time to time across London, most notably on the south bank of The Thames, but M Restaurants are doing something a little different with theirs. They're stacking a lot of Himalayan salt in them (around the diners, of course).
They've installed two of the pods outside the M Restaurant in Canary Wharf (overlooking the river), and the point is - allegedly - that diners can "relax in the rosy glow of the salt bricks to experience the health benefits first hand". We think that might be stretching the health benefits a little far if you're having a steak dinner at the same time.
There are two pods and it is possible to book the "Regeneration & Relaxation Salt Pod" pod and have their set menu (£25-£30) so it's not as expensive an experience as it might look at first glance. Although there is also the "Wagyu Salt Chamber" with a six-course Wagyu menu at £250 if you're splashing out. That wagyu has, of course, itself been dried out in Himalayan salt chambers itself. But don't worry - that shouldn't happen to you over the course of the meal...
