KERB's summer market at the National Theatre has a table long enough for 200 diners

If you enjoy dining out and meeting new people then the arrival of KERB's summer market on the South Bank will be right up your street. This year the street traders are stepping things up a bit with the focus on communal dining. KERB Presents: The Table will feature a 70-metre-long table with room for 200 people to eat shoulder to shoulder.

Serving up the food is a curated selection of eight street food traders.

  • Santa Bifana - pork belly and chicken thigh Portuguese sandwiches and tapas-style sharing plate
  • Eat Lah - Korean bao buns and Chinese rice bowls from Eat Lah
  • Papelon - Venezuelan cachapas and empanadas from Papelon
  • Sen Noods - hot and cold Japanese ramen and dumplings from Sen Noods
  • Big Kid Ice Cream - whose flavours include honey butter toast, chocolate orange negroni and olive oil baklava
  • Bad Boy Pizza Society - square Sicilian pizzas
  • Mumbai Mix - veggie and vegan Indian eats
  • Lucky's Hot Chicken - six-spice level Nashville hot chicken

Of course, you're going to need a drink or two to go along with that and the bars will be selling pitchers of rum punch and Cosmos alongside Aperol Spritzes and craft beers from South London’s Gipsy Hill Brewing Co.

It all sounds like a very convivial way to enjoy riverside dining without spending a fortune this summer.
