The crowdfunding campaign to rescue P Franco was a success

There's a crowdfunding campaign to rescue P Franco

Earlier this year, we brought you the news that P Franco, Bright and Noble Fine Liquor had all closed. it was a quick and surprising end for P Franco particularly, a wine bar that has been extremely influential in the London restaurant scene.

But there was a glimmer of light. William Gee, manager of P Franco for the past two years, set up a crowdfunder to rescue the bar. He points out that this new iteration will no longer involve Phil Bracey or William Gleave, P Franco's previous owners, but it does have their blessing. The aim seems to be to pick things back up again from where the wine bar was before the business closed. The crowdfunding will go towards new equipment (the space is currently empty), stock and maintenance.

Now, we bring you the news that the crowdfunding was indeed a success. Posting on Instagram, they've confirmed that things are moving forward with the licence application being the next (hopefully simple) hurdle. More details are still to come, but the reopening is tentatively set for June.
