Noble Rot pick Mayfair's Shepherd Market for their next restaurant

Noble Rot pick Mayfair's Shepherd Market for their next restaurant

If you haven't been into Mayfair's Shepherd Market for a while, they're about to get a new opening there that's going to bring the area into focus for foodies.

Noble Rot owners Dan and Mark have announced that they would be opening their third London restaurant there. They've taken over the old Le Boudin Blanc space.

"This, our third place, is certainly not lacking in its own rackety and scandalous past, "they say. "With its winding staircases, wonky floors, wood panelling and countless other quirky period features." They also add that the site, which used to be a pub, "earned a ripe reputation with Scotland Yard over the decades."

They've now revealed more details about their opening plans. The head chef is Adam Wood (previously Garden House in Cambridge and sous chef at Perilla) and he's been working with Noble Rot's Executive Chef, the legendary Stephen Harris of The Sportsman. For the menu, they've promised:

  • Smoked eel, beurre blanc caviar and potato
  • Sea bream and oyster tartare
  • A whole roast duck with Chambertin sauce and potato and cep gratin to share for two.

On top of that, they say to expect "their most ambitious wine programme yet."  Exciting times - this sounds like a great new addition to Shepherd Market.
