They're already known for serving up one of London's best Sunday lunches (as well as introducing it to New Yorkers), but it turns out that isn't enough for Hawksmoor. On the week they revealed they have a restaurant opening in Chicago, Hawksmoor are shaking up the Sunday lunch menu at home.
As well as the slow rump that's been on offer, there's now the option of premium prime rib and chateaubriand but for a meal that's always been about the trimmings, it's the new sides that really caught our eye. Coming to the menu from this Sunday are:
- Hawksmoor stuffing - a mix of bone marrow, onions, high-grade beef sausage and fresh herbs
- Cauliflower Cheese with Montgomery cheddar, double cream and English mustard
- Roasted Bone marrow & onions, slow-cooked with beef stock, garlic and thyme.
- Celeriac mash, sausage & gravy made with slow-cooked celeriac and high-grade pork sausages
- Madeira shallots
- Rainbow chard, anchovies & green sauce
This is, of course, alongside roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, of course. So yes, if you've been looking for a reason to head to Hawksmoor for Sunday lunch (or head back for the umpteenth time), we think this is just the excuse you're looking for.
