Hot on the heels of the bake sale that took place in Islington on Sunday for Earthquake Relief comes another cakeathon where every penny raised is going to do good.
This weekend marks the return of Bake For Ukraine - a charity event seeing London’s best-loved bakeries and patisseries raising funds for the Legacy of War Foundation.
The event's being hosted by Instagrammer Clerkenwell Boy, and food writers Olia Hercules and Alissa Timoshkina. In total there are going to be 17 bakeries who'll either be creating special one-offs for the occasion or their most signature bakes.
Cake lovers are promised treats like chef Yurii Kovryzhenko’s Ukrainian Honey Cake from Mriya Neo Bistro, or Toklas Bakery’s Choux buns, generously filled with Ling honey créme mousseline. And while you can enjoy coffee and tea at the sale you might want to get a bottle of Ukrainian Dima’s Vodka to bring home with you.
