Jun Tanaka's The Ninth restaurant to reopen after being closed by a fire for nine months

Jun Tanaka's The Ninth to reopen after being closed by a fire for nine months

It's been closed for nine months after a fire last July but now Jun Tanaka's The Ninth is getting ready to make a comeback (cue Rocky music).

While the look of the restaurant will apparently be "reassuringly familiar", we're told that they've taken the opportunity to freshen things up a bit with new leather banquettes, new tableware and new bathrooms (always important, that last one).

As for the menu, dishes like the salted beef cheek with sourdough will return as well as their amazing pain perdu with tonka bean ice cream. New to the menu will be:

  • Tuna belly, Mojama and anchovy vinaigrette
  • Venison tartare, Jerusalem artichokes and sour plums
  • Pork cheek tortellini with lardo and salsa verde.

We've previously adored the pasta offering at The Ninth so that last dish should be amazing. If you haven't been to the restaurant before that fire, then it's definitely one to have on your radar once it reopens.
