25/1/23 - Updated with the opening date
If you fancy a touch of Ibiza glamour as the nights get darker, then you’ll be pleased to know you can soon scurry along to Lío London, the first permanent site in the capital for the Pacha Group. If this is ringing vague disco bells for you, then you may have attended former show-and-dining experiences from the brand in Mykonos, Las Vegas and indeed at Lío Ibiza, where wait staff have been performing alongside the singers, actors and acrobats for the past decade. If this is new to you, expect a night of eclectic entertainment while dining on Mediterranean food before the whole thing morphs into a nightclub.
Taking over the site of legendary nightclub Café de Paris, which closed during the pandemic after trading for almost a century, Lío will launch in a careful refurbishment of the Grade-II-listed building. Think original 1924 double-sided staircases, mirrored ceilings and a moveable DJ booth, with a restaurant that seats 200 dinners. If you’re the shy retiring type, you can choose to watch from the wraparound mezzanine or book a table on the original ballroom floor, right in the middle of the action.
Sounds like just the ticket to pause the cost-of-living crisis for one indulgent evening? Then wait, there’s more. Behind the menu at Lío London is Adam Rawson, formerly at The Standard at King’s Cross and more recently Executive Chef at Laylow.
Chef Rawson will bring his own creative touches to an Ibiza-influenced menu, along with wines from head sommelier Romaine Aurdrerie (previously at Chiltern Firehouse). We’ll update you on the food offering as more details emerge.
