You may have seen him on Netflix's Chef's Table, or tried his food at last year's collaboration with Bone Daddies. But now ramen hot shot Ivan Orkin of Ivan Ramen fame is coming to London for a full-blown residency.
The TV star and New York restaurateur will be running his Ivan Mazemen residency at Islington food hall Neighbourhood (previously known as Sessions) for four weeks. Mazemen is Ivan's broth-less ramen which has long been a hit with both New York and, before that, Tokyo audiences.
On the launch menu we're promised dishes like:
- Triple Chicken Triple Garlic Mazemen (fresh garlic, roasted garlic, garlic oil, paitan broth, chicken)
- Katsu Curry Mazemen (panko breaded chicken breast, Japanese curry, thick rye noodles, assorted fukujinzuki)
- Cold Sesame Noodles (chilled Szechuan chicken, roasted peppers, preserved chilli, coriander)
- Japanese Fried Chicken with toasted garlic caramel, togarashi, shiso ranch
"The ramen scene in London is particularly exciting," says Ivan, adding; "I can’t wait to introduce my mazemen dishes to a new audience of slurpers.
