One way to blow any plans to calorie control over January would be to take a visit to London's newest doughnut store. Donutelier, which opened its doors on Charing Cross Road just before Christmas, is packed full of temptations to not only break that diet, but smash it into smithereens.
It's the first UK outpost from Israeli bakery and cafe group Roladin which has quite the rep for its doughnuts back in Tel Aviv.
Here in London, as the name suggests, they're focusing on doughnuts with some very appealing creations including
- Chocolate pretzels - topped with a vanilla sugar crust, chocolate ganache and pretzel varigato
- Vanilla pecan - Vanilla cream, pecan praline, white chocolate chantilly and caramelized pecans
- St Honore - Mascarpone cream and salted caramel, white chocolate chantilly and a caramelized vanilla profiterole
But there'll also be pastries, cruffins and cookies on offer too. Get your elasticated waist pants on, folks.
