Festive celebrations took a bad turn at Mayfair restaurant Mnky Hse on Friday night when a fire broke out forcing hundreds of customers and restaurant workers to flee the premises.
In dramatic footage put up on social media you can see the restaurant's Christmas decorations fully ablaze as people dash to escape.

According to the London Fire Brigade, which attended the fire, it was caused by indoor sparklers setting off flammable Christmas decorations inside the restaurant. And you can see in the footage a person holding a bottle with a sparkler while a Christmas tree burns in the background.
Two people were treated at the scene. A post by the restaurant's social team, which has since been taken down, said that the restaurant was closed until further notice.
