Herne Hill's Llewellyn's is opening a new wine bar and shop - right next door to the restaurant.
Lulu's will be a shop during the day (also selling salads and sandwiches) and change into a wine bar at night. In charge is chef Lasse Petersen, who will be putting together a menu that mixes European cuisine with Middle Eastern and Nordic flavours. Dishes on the evening menu might include:
- Beef tartare with pickled Jerusalem artichoke on toast
- Smoked eel, celeriac, egg yolk and horseradish
- Clams with Alsace bacon, Pernod and fennel
- Parisian gnocchi with wild mushrooms and Perigord truffle.
And alongside those, there'll be drinks like an orange marmalade martini together with wine from Slovenia, Georgia, Beaujolais and Tuscany.
