With perfect timing for the Christmas crowds, Scottish pancake purveyor Stack & Still has just opened its first London restaurant on Leicester Square. It's also their first opening outside Scotland and they've picked a massive site. The new restaurant has got room for 225 diners - that's a lot of pancake lovers.
If you haven't heard of them before - and we'll admit we hadn't - the chain currently serves up more than a million pancakes a year to sweet-toothed Scots.
Bestsellers on the menu include the Big Breakfast Stack (that's a buttermilk stack with bacon, black pudding, sausage, baked beans and fried egg) and the Bueno Stack, a buttermilk stack with Nutella, mascarpone, Kinder Bueno, chocolate chip, caramel sauce and white chocolate sauce.
If you'd prefer to put your own creation together, you can choose between buttermilk, buckwheat, protein, gluten-free/vegan and low-fat pancakes before adding either trad toppings or more out-there creations like chicken and Piri-Piri sauce, beetroot and cumin falafel, slow cooked chilli brisket or flamed peaches.
