Keeping their business strictly local, the team behind one of London's best wine bars have quietly opened a new place. Sager + Wilde have been a huge influence on London's wine scene since they first opened their Hackney wine bar almost a decade ago (followed up by a restaurant on Paradise Row and Fare on Old Street). Now, they've taken on a new site, just three corners up on the same road as the original bar.
Equal Parts began life as a wine and coffee shop. As Michael Sager explains they'll be serving up "everything - from the producers we work with directly to next level rares and fancy wines, think Valentini, Selosse et al." Now it's open as an Amaro and Aperitivo bar. Upstairs (pictured here) looks rather lovely and downstairs they have a massive oak table for up to sixteen people and a lounge area, which can be hired out separately for groups.
"Ever since opening Sager + Wilde on Hackney Road, I was dreaming of one day having the opportunity to open up shop down the road," says Michael. "Ten years later, the day is finally here."
