We'd like to think we know a thing or two about croquetas, having been a judge at the Croquetas Challenge for a good few years now. So we're pretty excited at the prospect of a restaurant devoted to the tapas opening in London.
Bar Kroketa is a spin-off from Spanish restaurant group Brindisa and will take over a space on Beak Street previously occupied by Bread Ahead, right by the entrance to Kingly Court.
On the launch croquetas menu you'll find options like:
- Sobrasada and goat’s curd with honey
- Girolle and pine with shaved idiazabal
- Jamón with lardo and migas
- Blue cheese with crushed walnut
- Prawn & leek with prawn head alioli
- Salt cod with txakoli verjus alioli
They'll also be serving snacks on the counter like gildas and cheese taquitos, while a small plate menu will also be available. On that, we rather fancy the crab & alioli toastie on that, along with the lamb neck pintxo moruño.
For the wine list, they had us at 'affordable' with a wide range of Spanish wines alongside sherry, vermút and sidra.
