Hicce spin-off Hicce Hart comes to Islington

Hicce spin-off Hicce Hart is coming to Islington

15/11/22 - Hicce Hart is now open

Good news for North London, with a second outlet of Hicce due to open. Called Hicce Hart, it will take up the site most recently occupied by the Day & Night pub in Islington (and a few more iterations before that) - a handy 20-minute walk from the original Hicce.

Fans of the original Hicce at Coal Drops Yard have been enjoying the kitchen skills of Pip Lacey (previously at Angela Hartnett's Murano and more recently popping up at Jeremy Clarkson's now-ordered-to-shut restaurant). Cooking alongside Pip at the new outlet is head chef Charlotte Harris, who initially started at Hicce before gaining experience at other top London restaurants, including Fallow.

On the menu at Hicce Hart you’ll find everything from bar snacks to savour over a pint to proper Sunday roasts. There’s also a little upstairs space where they intend to hold Sunday evening wine clubs and supper clubs.

We're yet to see the menu, but assuming it's similar to the wood-fired offerings at the original Hicce, we might expect the likes of:

  • Beef bavette, radicchio, turnip, beans and miso
  • Venison haunch, squash, broccoli, tempura and grapes
  • Baby monkfish tail, romesco sauce and herb salsa
  • Chocolate ganache with passionfruit.

The wine list will feature small-batch, low-intervention producers, with hand-pulled wines also served to minimise waste. Beer connoisseurs won’t want to miss the Hicce IPA, an exclusive co-brew from North London’s The Goodness Brewery
