Have you moved somewhere in London and thought it could really do with a few more restaurants? Well, you could do what Genevieve Sparrow is doing in Tottenham and just open your own.
Genevieve worked in restaurants for years (including for the ETM Group and Quality Chop House) and moved to Tottenham a few years back. After running a series of supperclubs around the area she finally decided to go all in and open a permanent restaurant.
She's taken over the space that used to house the William Hill bookies on West Green Road and has brought in head chef Pip MacDonald, who has experience at J Sheekey, Scotts and Merchents Tavern, and most recently as head chef of Levan in Peckham.
The all-day cafe and restaurant will start with coffee and pastries in the morning, switching to sandwiches at lunchtime before "transforming into an intimate bar and restaurant in the evenings". On the menu, you can expect:
- Cauliflower & tahini croquette, with Hungarian black chili
- Sprout tops, nameko & king oyster mushroom, with ajo blanco
- Ossobuco of Monkfish & haricot beans, with green sauce
- Blackberry sorbet, fig leaf oil, almond brittle & chocolate mint
Wines will be low-intervention and European with plenty available by the carafe (and to take home as refills).
Genevieve says "I’m looking forward to Pasero becoming part of the vibrant fabric of West Green Road. I'm hoping that we can make it a real neighbourhood gem, and a reason to visit Tottenham even if you don’t live close by.”
