Coming off the back of the very successful Peggy Jean riverside barge opening in Richmond, the Daisy Green group aren't slowing down. They've just opened the next in the series of Australian-inspired cafes, Johnny Green, in St John's Wood.
Taking over from what used to be The Gate, the restaurant is actually named after the father of the founder of the group, Prue Freeman. They say that the corner site "is already very special to us. The space is beautiful, light and airy with an open kitchen and statement bar. It is a great local spot for a coffee catch-up, leisurely brunch or dinner and drinks in the evening." The look of the restaurant is also going to be a little different from their other restaurants.
This new opening will also be home to their development chef, so you can expect new dishes to appear on the Johnny Green menu first. And as with the other Daisy Green restaurants, they love their brunches. On the menu here will be dishes like buttermilk blueberry pancakes, peach melba coconut french toast, Golden Gaytime pancakes and more.
