A Hot Dinners exclusive. Updated 28/9/22 with opening date
Down in Margate, the food scene seems unstoppable with loads of interesting places opening up to look after locals and entice Londoners down for the weekend.
This summer will see the opening of Sète by Jackson Berg & Natalia Ribbe, the team behind well-established restaurant Barletta at Turner Contemporary. The launch will be in two parts. To begin with they'll open the wine bar section serving up small plates and offering all wine at shop prices.
Dishes on the opening menu will include:
- Chicken & egg mayo with anchovy
- Pâté en croûte with pickled gherkin
- Potted smoked prawn with brown crab butter
- Chickpeas with persillade
- Tarte a l'oignon, comete and Walmestone Growers salad
"The focus will be on creating a fun and intimate place for locals and visitors to enjoy in Cliftonville inspired by our visits to our favourite wine bars in Paris," says Natalia. "We want to make wine accessible to everyone, getting people talking about what they enjoy and helping them to try something new! Wine can be so intimidating and overwhelming and we want to strip all of that away and have fun." To that end, the wine list will have a leaning towards female winemakers and there will be up to 50 wines available by the glass, with all bottles also on offer to take out too.
