BKC (Biyrani Kebab Chai) brings Awadhi cuisine to Marble Arch

BKC (Biyrani Kebab Chai) brings Awadhi cuisine to Marble Arch

A new restaurant that's all about Indian cuisine from the Awadhi region is coming to Marble Arch.

Setting its stall out quite clearly with the name BKC - which stands for Biryani Kebab Chai - the restaurant is from Executive Chef Arsh Thakur, who's teamed up with Subjahit Mitra, the man behind East London's Coupette.

As the name suggests, it's going to concentrate on traditional biryanis, Northern Indian kebabs, and chai. That means you can expect Awadhi kebabs grilled on a chula or skillet including their seekh kebab, made with lamb mince and spices and the galouti kebab, made with lamb pate. You'll be able to choose romali roti or laccha paratha for your kebabs. As for biryanis, they'll be available as mutton, Awadhi chicken, vegetable soya chaap or Awadhi style vegan.

Then there's the chai - that will include Kashmiri Pink Chai, made with gunpowder tea, salt and baking powder for that pink colour.

While it's being billed as a "grab and go" restaurant, there are seats for 40 inside so if you're in Hyde Park and feeling peckish, this new spot could be very handy.
