The Holland pub sees Oxalis pop-up chef go permanent

The Holland pub sees Oxalis pop-up chef go permanent

A new pub that quietly opened a couple of months back has just appeared on our radar with its official opening today.

The Holland (it used to be the Princess Victoria but it is very close to Holland Park) comes from chef Max de Nahlik, who previously co-ran popular pop-up Oxalis, and was most recently at The Duke of Cambridge in Islington. He's billing his menu as “unpretentious and fun” and with a big focus on local produce, using suppliers like The Ethical Butcher for meat and Celtic Fish & Game and Henderson’s for seafood.

That menu features:

  • Spiced brown crab on toast
  • Tomatoes, peach, chilli, pangrattato, smoked tofu
  • Pork collar steak, greengage chutney, kohlrabi & beetroot
  • Hake, piperade, fennel salad
  • Almond tart, double cream

And yes there are, of course, Sunday roasts (with vegan options) all alongside a European wine list and a changing list of cask ales. Oxalis had a great reputation so this new pub definitely looks worth checking out, we think.
