With all that’s going on in the world, a bit of fun escapism is very much on the cards. If you think fairground attractions are a thing of your youth or something you must endure with your/other people’s children (or bonus points if you thought of an 80s pop band), then a new immersive experience at Canary Wharf is about to remove a few misconceptions.
Fairgame will be a playground for grown-ups (think: Prosecco-infused candy floss) in a 20,000 sq ft venue along a 100m riverside terrace, where your traditional fairground games, such as duck shoot and water-gun clown, have been reinvented for modern times. Interior designer Patrick McKinney has introduced luminous carousel booths, fairground mirrors and rubber duck installations to bring a sense of flair and fun.
What’s more, the culinary offering is considerably more elevated than your typical fair’s fast food, with some of London’s hottest street food vendors coming along for the ride, including Dos Mas Tacos, Burger & Beyond and Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana.
There are also three Bumper Bars located around the venue that will serve signature cocktails (there isn't a name yet, but they say they’re created by one of the world’s best bartenders), alongside boozy slushies and London-brewed craft beer.
Pre-paid tokens for food and drinks packages can be purchased in advance and these are loaded onto wristbands upon check-in. BYO competitive nature and funfair nostalgia.
