Recently opened in Camden, there's a brand new Shawarma shop called Hala Wala that sounds like a promising place to pop in and try.
Their shawarma is marinated for 24 hours in their own blend of spices and comes in chicken, chicken sojok (spicy chicken), lamb and mixed, of course. Once it's sliced off, you can have it in the classic wraps style (in Lebanese bread) or in burger buns, brioche bread, in salad platters with rice or on loaded fries.
It's not just shawarma though - there's also:
- Falafel served with salad, pickles and Lebanese bread
- Baba Ghanoush with a garnish of pomegranate and paprika with a side of Lebanese bread
- Batata Harra - Spicy fried potato cubes, mixed with coriander, garlic, red chilli paste & sumac
- Hummus - which can be topped with more shawarma
There's also vegan shawarma on top of all that. It already looks like it's getting a good reaction going by Google reviews, so should be worth a look.
