When it comes to football, Boxpark Croydon really has carved a space out for itself as the place to be. However, with the World Cup coming up in November, a new contender to the crown is incoming.
Skylight in Tobacco Dock is the challenger, with its new venue Pitchside opening within the second level of the warehouse. They're billing it as the biggest sports bar in the UK, fitting in up to 500, and it will be showing every match in the tournament. There will be a "players' tunnel" entrance, five huge LED screens with every seat guaranteed a view, and post-match DJs and drinks up until 1pm.
Will it get the cameras in to show everyone chucking their beers up in the air? That'll be the real test...
