Hot on the heels of Cedric Grolet's arrival in London comes news that another feted Parisian pastry chef is heading our way. Angelo Musa is HUGE in Paris where he works at super luxe hotel Hotel Plaza Athénée and he's been enticed over to London by Harrods.
The Knightsbridge store will open an outpost by Musa this spring and they're pretty happy about it. In an announcement, Ashley Saxton, Director of Restaurants and Kitchens at Harrods enthused: "Welcoming Angelo Musa to our repertoire is an honour. He is a true visionary in the culinary world, who showcases the utmost craftmanship in pastry."
The chef has won all manner of titles for his world-class patisserie including ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France and ‘World Pastry Champion’. The Knightsbridge patisserie will sell the cake that won him that last accolade - the ‘Papilio' described as "a marriage of passion fruit and chocolate". And Musa's signature cake 100% Vanilla will also be on sale here.
There's also a new savoury section on offer along with two cakes that can only be found in London right now - one, a strawberry confection (pictured above) and the other a grapefruit millefeuille.
