KiliG introduces a Filipino-Colombian menu to Deptford

We've had plenty of Filipino/Mexican mashups, but a new Deptford restaurant, KiliG is bringing London a blend Filipino and Columbian cuisine that we are definitely up for.

KiliG's name comes from the Tagalog expression for "inexplicable joy and happiness" and the restaurant takes its inspiration from the Filipino and Colombian roots of owners Anjelica Serra and Ivan Ruiz, who have run a group of restaurants before but are now going it alone. There's also, led by the pair's years in hospitality, a big focus on staff wellbeing throughout the business. As they say "guests will reap the benefits" of that.

The menu looks well worth a try with dishes such as:

  • Ube, pandan, and vanilla pancakes with strawberry, braised rhubarb, mint Chantilly and cardamom maple syrup
  • Crab torta with asparagus, tomato pearls, and shellfish butter sauce
  • Crispy pork belly with papaya and mango chutney
  • Pork adobo and charred pineapple arepas
  • Ube churros with dark chocolate dipping sauce

There's also a weekend brunch which looks pretty promising and quite unique - worth checking out for sure.
