A Hot Dinners exclusive
News reaches us of something new to Leyton's dining scene. Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant Bamboo Mat, which opened just a few weeks back, has a team that met while working at Chotto Matte so there's a good chance that this could be something special.
The chefs behind it are Denis Gobjila who's ex-Chotto Matte and his business partner Victor Rosca, who also worked at Sushi Samba, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay and Roka.
Dishes on a menu that also features sushi, nikkei sharing plates and cocktails, include:
- Hamachi Tiradito - Yellowtail kingfish, yuzu truffle soy, aji amarillo, chives
- Salmon Tataki - Lightly seared salmon, Aji amarillo tiger's milk, red onion, coriander
- Grilled A4 Wagyu Beef with Japanese bbq sauce and pickled wasabi
And on top of that, there's also a lunchtime bento box offering and a kids menu too.
"We hope Bamboo Mat will add another food dimension to the already vibrant culture that is emerging in this part of London," they told Hot Dinners.
