Brix sees Brixton restaurateurs join up with DJ Troyboi to bring Brooklyn vibes to Bankside

The team who launched the much-loved (and missed) Brixton Village Grill and also Chip Shop are headed towards the river for their next opening. Restaurateurs Michael Lythgoe and Cidalia Rodrigues are hoping to bring Brixton vibes to Bankside with their restaurant and late-night bar BRIX. And they're teaming up with DJ and producer Troyboi to make sure it has the right warehouse vibes.

They're taking over the old Hixter Bankside site and are planning a restaurant scene which also includes street art, DJ sets and exhibitions.

Chef Radek Nitkowski (ex-Soho House Group) is in charge of a menu that is all about American comfort food. On the launch menu we're promised:

  • Badboi Burger - fried chicken with bacon and jerk mayo
  • Oxtail Doughnuts with Keen's cheddar and sweet pepper jam
  • Lobster and Chips
  • Hemp and Cauliflower Burger with Mango Chutney and House Pickles
  • Gin-Infused Doughnuts

Weekend brunches will be a big thing with Jalapeno cornbread and chicken butter, a full fry-up, buttermilk waffles and more on offer.

Downstairs you'll find a late-night bar. There's not much in the way of info on that right now so we'll keep this updated when we hear more.
