If you need something to lure you out of the house on a Saturday then this new stall at Hackney's Westgate St Market could be just the thing.
HOKO have been selling their Hong Kong milk tea online for a while now and they supply places like Three Uncles and Pleasant Lady. But now you can try their signature teas alongside a whole range of Hong Kong-style French toast from their new weekend kiosk.
The cafe kiosk will open be every Saturday at Westgate St Market and, alongside their milk tea, their french toast offering will include:
- Golden Yolk (salted egg yolk, cream cheese and optional pork floss)
- Soy Mochi (rice mochi filling, soy sauce, mirin sake and nori)
- 3:15PM (ham, cheese and honey)
- Hong Kong Classic (golden French toast filled with peanut butter, maple syrup and a thick slab of butter)
- Matcha (Uji matcha lava and powder with whipped mascarpone)
- Yuen Yueng (HK milk tea spread, espresso syrup and condensed milk).
If you haven't switched up your brunch game to include this Hong Kong take on French toast before, then know that the key differences are that it uses thick white milk toast instead of brioche and uses a deep-fat frier, rather than a frying pan, to cook it.
For those of you who might be a little fragile, post Friday night festivities, this could be what you need to rescue your weekend.
