14/3/22 - updated with opening date

Six months after taking over the old Dominique Ansel bakery in Belgravia, Chestnut Bakery are at it again. The bakery that's already created a stellar reputation for its breads and pastries is taking over the other Ansel site in Covent Garden.

If you recall, that space was a large corner site on Floral Street across two floors. The plans right now are to launch with the bakery on the ground floor to start with and then later open the upstairs dining room, where they'll be serving a menu of handmade flatbreads from their clay oven.

Fans of Chestnut's amazing cakes (the one pictured is a current special at the Belgravia bakery) will be pleased to hear that the Covent Garden branch will open with a special edition floral pastry that's exclusive to this location.
