Last month they opened their 50th store, in Knightsbridge, with fans including Konan and boxer Amir Khan. Now the UK-based South East Indian cafe chain Chaiiwala have set their sights on Dalston.
The company was founded in Leicester by a family whose great grandfather was indeed a chai wallah in Delhi back in the 1920s. Since then they've been opening places like crazy across the UK and London.
In addition to the chai, the food menu includes butter chicken roti, masala chips, chilli paneer and pav bhaji. But it's probably their desi breakfasts that they're best known for which features an omelette, spicy beans or dahl, roti and their classic karak chai.
Their Dalston opening sees them taking over from Costa on Kingsland High Street by Dalston Junction.
