Yolk brings egg pots and sandwiches to Soho

Yolk brings egg pots and sandwiches to Soho

After a first glance at the name, you might expect Yolk to be the latest of London's trend of egg-based restaurants. And while eggs are indeed on the menu, it's actually also about sandwiches or, as they put it, "fine fast food". They've already opened two places in the city in New Street and Broadgate and their latest is coming to Soho's Golden Square.

Eggs are available at breakfast in the shape of poached egg pots, like the Smoky Benedict with smoked ham hock and their house hollandaise.  For the rest of the day, the sandwiches arrive and they do indeed sound very tempting, including:

  • Steak Bearnaise sandwich (with 14-hour cooked bavette steak, bearnaise, caramelised balsamic onion & rocket)
  • Avo-Mushroom Bap (soy-glazed portobello mushroom, smashed avocado & secret sauce)
  • N'duja club (roasted chicken, sweetcure streaky bacon, nduja mayo, tomato, cos lettuce).

On top of that, there will be hot pots and salad bowls. So, if you'll be returning to work in Soho this sounds well worth a breakfast or lunchtime trip.
