During the pandemic, one of the restaurants to close was the long-running Bar Boulud, one of two key restaurants at the Mandarin Oriental (the other is Dinner by Heston).
But now they've just announced the successor - The Aubrey, which is being billed as "an eccentric Japanese izakaya experience". It's apparently the first Uk restaurant by Maximal Concepts, a Hong Kong restaurant group with restaurants that include Mott 32, Palais de Chine and many more.
At this stage, we know very little about what's being planned, other than it will be "a fully immersive experience where art and design meets high-quality drinks and innovative dining". We'll just have to see what that means in practice.
We'll add more news as we get it.
