Updated 10/11/21 with more info on the Vinoteca opening
We've only just had the opening of the big Hawley Wharf development in Camden and now another new retail and restaurant scheme is getting ready to open on the other side of town in Borough. Borough Yards is the latest hoping to tempt in the workers giving up their WFH status.
It's part of a wholesale reworking of the old Vinopolis site. The restaurants are slowly being announced in the run-up to the opening, so expect this list to grow in the coming weeks. It's already sounding quite similar to King's Cross's Coal Drops Yard (there's even a Paul Smith) but here's who we know will be there:
Barrafina and Parrillan - This is a second outing for the double-act that first appeared in Coal Drops Yard. it will see the opening of the fifth Barrafina, once again serving some of London's best tapas around a marble bar. Outside, you'll have Parrillan, the restaurant that has you cooking up your own seafood, meat and vegetables on a tabletop mini parrilla grill.
Bar Daskal - A Spanish wine and sherry bar, once again serving tapas but only cold tapas. It's named after Vladimir Daskalof, the artist grandfather of Sam, Eddie and James Hart (the people behind this and Barrafina), and they'll be showcasing his art here too.
Butchies - Top buttermilk fried chicken, this will be the ninth outing for them.
Vinoteca - The sixth opening from the wine bar group will be one of the first to open at the development. There'll be room for almost 100 wine drinkers inside and this branch will have a focus on sustainably made wines.
