Things are changing at The Trocadero. This giant shopping and entertainment centre has been largely dormant for years, but now a host of new openings there are shaking things up.
First to open its doors should be Figaro's Bar. Imagine, if you will, that someone has transplanted a bar in its entirety from Marseilles to Piccadilly. The first-floor bar aims to recreate the drinking experience you'd have in a clifftop bar overlooking the Med. So there's an old house facade with shutters, and trellises dripping with foliage and wisteria.
On the drinks list, you'll find Post Malone's Maison No9 rosé (they're the only place to stock it in London, apparently) along with a special beer created in collaboration with the brewers of La Sagra and Molson Coors.
For food, they're promising French bar snacks like duck rillettes with toast and onion marmalade and portobello mushroom croquettes.
