What: Slice by Pizza Pilgrims
In a nutshell: NYC style pizza slices for Finsbury Park
Summing it all up: The brothers who brought us Pizza Pilgrims are behind this Neapolitan/NYC style mash up pizza slice bar.
The low-down
Finsbury Park locals wondering what was taking over the space left vacant after the closure of the much-loved Quality Fish Bar after 45 years had their questions answered this week.
Turns out it's going to be the third opening for Pizza Pilgrims' diffusion line - Slice. Brothers James and Thom Elliot have already opened two branches of Slice, the first last year on the South Bank and the second this spring on Oxford Street.
Billed as their mash-up between Naples pizza and NYC pizza by the slice. New and exclusive pizzas for this branch include:
- Penne Alla Vodka slice: the pasta slice
- Hawaii Not - honey glazed pineapple, nduja and jalapenos
There'll be crust bites and crust dippers, cookie dough cannolis for dessert along with a tight menu of beer, wine and frozen boozy cocktails. And, while it's mainly take-away there will also be a decent amount of room to eat in.
One thing's for sure - it'll be popular come match days.
