You may have heard of something called Christmas in July. It's so named because every July, many big shops showcase everything that they'll have on the shelves at Christmas - giving various publications plenty of time to plan their Christmas coverage. We will admit we love Christmas in July but until now it's very much been a behind-the-scenes thing. But Pret are changing that.
Starting today, they're actually bringing their Christmas sandwich back in Summer, for a month. Yes, that's right - you can pop in today and pick up your Christmas sandwich very early this year. The sandwich itself is British turkey in a port & orange cranberry sauce, a herby pork stuffing, baby spinach leaves, free-range mayo and then topped with crispy onions.
It's just that sandwich though - the vegan nut roast won't be back until Christmas (but apparently they're sharing the recipe).
It'll be on sale until August - and then won't be back until the proper Christmas season. Oh, and if you're near Wardour Stree today (6 July) Noddy Holder himself will be giving away 100 of the sandwiches. Because you can't have Christmas without Slade.
