We've been tormenting ourselves by following the Outstanding in the Field Instagram account for years now. This 'roving restaurant without walls' spends the summers travelling across the States setting up alfresco dinner tables in the most gorgeous settings - from farms to vineyards and beaches. Their aim is "to connect diners to the origins of their food while celebrating the hardworking hands that feed us".
It's been a really long time since they were last in the UK (they popped up at Trealy Farm back in 2011) but now we can bring you news of two events that have just gone on sale.
In July they'll hold two UK dinners - one down in Cornwall and the other will be their first dinner in London. The Cornish event sounds worth travelling to. It'll be held on Cornwall Project farmer Matt Chatfield's farm. Chatfield is known for his cull yaw meat which graces the menus in loads of top London restaurants. He'll be joined by Cornwall chef Ben Quinn "who brings expertise in woodfired and outdoor cooking" and San Francisco restaurateur and author Adam Dulye.
As for the London date, they say that "a London event has been on the OITF bucket list for quite a while now." For that they're teaming up with Honey & Co, so you just know that'll be good. There's no location yet for that - it's shrouded in secrecy.
Both dinners are priced pretty punchily - they're £219. But that does include a drinks reception with canapes, a tour of the farm or event site, and a four-course family-style seated dinner with wine pairings. And as you can see from these pictures, it's quite the show they put on.
