While restaurants are slowly getting back to business, the delivery side of hospitality has been changed forever by the pandemic and various lockdowns. But while some restaurants are backing away from sending out meals and meal kits (you can only do so much in a small kitchen) others are going strong and there are also plenty of new delivery-only businesses that are well worth checking out.
One of those is the new My Local Kitchen, which is particularly of note because it boasts Garry Hollihead as its culinary director. Over the course of his career, Garry has won three Michelin stars at previous restaurants, including L'Escargot in Soho.
Things at My Local Kitchen differ a little from other delivery ventures, mainly because everything is made from scratch, fresh to order but you can still get delivery multiple times throughout the week. On at the moment are dishes that include Keen's cheddar souffle, lamb shank shepherd's pie and French puff pastry pizza with aubergine & cherry vine tomatoes.
They're starting with a delivery range that's six miles from Barnes - but look for an expansion across London from them soon.
