On a grey day in February in Lockdown what better news could we bring you than the arrival of a new home delivery biryani service? Better still, it comes from the founders Harneet Baweja and Devina Seth, who gave us Indian restaurant Gunpowder.
This new delivery restaurant centres around Dum Biryani with a range of other dishes from Northern India. Made fresh every day, the signature biryani takes no less than 36 hours to come to fruition before it's topped with shortcrust pastry and fresh spices.
The choice is simple - choose from either lamb shank or Shahi mushroom biryani. There's also a sharing size one for larger groups or families.
Alongside the main event, other dishes on the menu will include:
- Masala Chana Aloo Chaat
- Achari Aloo Gobi
- Pepper Chicken Fry
- Hyderabadi Egg curry
- Paneer butter Masala
- Triple Chocolate Brownie, served with cardamom custard
If you're in London you can order it all via Deliveroo. Those further away can choose from two DIY Feasting Kits which include the signature biryani, two side dishes and dessert to share.
“Whilst we’re very much looking forward to having our restaurants open again," says Harneet, "I’m equally excited to bring my beloved biryani into people’s homes”.
