Dalston has itself a new pizza parlour and it looks like this might be a bit special. Gordo's comes from Jesse Elias, who has previously been the senior GM at Yard Sale in Clapton before going it alone, so he should have a fair bit of pizza know-how under his belt.
We caught up with him to find out a little bit more. "At Gordo's, we wanted to be a more traditional pizzeria on the menu but more vibey late-night space, so with the help of some other pizza mates we came up with the menu and the base for our dough recipe. After that, I was lucky enough to have two very talented chefs join my team (one from a family of bakers, the other straight from pizza school in Naples).
Our wine list is small but dedicated to natural wine and honest production. All our wine is natural with the exception of our prosecco and Chin Chin, and we kept it simple with one lager on the menu."
There's more to come - the desserts are currently being reworked - but here's their menu:
It definitely seems like a very promising addition to London's pizzerias - worth checking out if you're in Dalston. Plus they do delivery too.
