There's no getting away from the fact that lockdown was hard on London. But, equally, it's fair to say that some businesses coped better than others. Highbury restaurant Top Cuvee didn't let any grass grow under its feet when the city shut down. It pivoted quickly to become a natural wine distributor Shop Cuvee - actually growing its business over lockdown.
Now that owner Brodie and his team have been able to reopen the restaurant, they didn't want to let all that hard work building the shop go to waste. So, they'll be moving around the corner to open Shop Cuvee on Blackstock Road.
Billed as "a natural wine shop and delicatessen"- they're planning on stocking the same winning mix of wine from small producers, local craft beer and artisan cocktails along with deli goods, focusing on local produce. On the food front you'll be able to buy cheese from Neil’s Yard, cured meats from Cobble Lane along with dishes to go from Top Cuvee including pig’s head terrine and their whipped smoked cod’s roe.
They're also hoping to hold the occasional wine tasting.
